2 Introductions

This last week we introduced our kids to two classics of our own childhoods, and we are a bit ashamed that it has been this long and that our kids didn't know what these things were.

First, the drive-in movie, compliments of COVID-19 social distancing. It was the perfect way to watch a movie (besides comfortably at home, but sometimes you just have to shake things up a bit). The closest drive in was about 40 minutes away, and the kids were pumped! Because of virus stuff, the drive in didn't mind if you brought in your own snacks, as indicated on their website, which makes me think, you weren't supposed to bring in your own snacks? Since when? So we got to the drive in about 30 minutes early, and the kids were ready to bust out the snacks right away. We opened up the back of the Odyssey and everyone laid out the numerous blankets, pillows, and stuffed animals they couldn't live without. After about 45 minutes or so, everyone was getting hot and thirsty and tired. Finally, the movie kicked on! And they loved it! A terrific family activity for these crazy times! We got home pretty late, but everyone slept in the next morning. So it was a well-worth-it memory!

Second, tater tots. Yep. Tater Tots. Had our kids seriously never eaten tater tots?? Todd and I were watching a show about making homemade taters (which I wouldn't recommend by the way,  just buy the $2 bag), and we decided that tater tots sounded pretty yummy. So the next time we got groceries, tater tots were in the shopping cart! And a few nights later they were the perfect side dish to some BBQ chicken. The verdict? Of course, they were devoured!
